According to TSN.ua: U.S. Special Presidential Envoy Steven Witkoff has outlined a fresh American mediation strategy for talks involving Ukraine and Russia, emphasizing the critical need to foster positive relations between the parties. Witkoff's remarks came during a special YES meeting in Kyiv on February 24, 2026, where he stressed that
"we will never reach an agreement if we do not understand the positions of both sides, if we do not establish good relations with both"— Steven Witkoff. He also noted,
"so many people are suffering, and I feel it"— Steven Witkoff. This shift in U.S. diplomacy comes as the conflict enters its fifth year, with international pressure for a resolution mounting.
