Zelenskyy Announces European Talks and Peace Plans Alongside New Sanctions.
Ukrainian President Announces New Round of Negotiations
According to Novyny.live: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced preparations for a new round of peace negotiations, emphasizing the daily work dedicated to achieving peace. The statement was made on Saturday, February 21. The next round of talks is planned for the near future. Zelenskyy stressed the importance of ensuring 'the next meeting must be substantive, and that is possible.' This comes as Ukraine continues its diplomatic push for a resolution to the ongoing conflict.
Meetings with European Partners and Fresh Sanctions
Zelenskyy also noted he will meet with European partners in the coming week. He announced new sanctions targeting 225 officials involved in transporting Russian oil.
"And we will consistently implement sanctions—and make them global—against all those who help Russia earn money for war," he said.
Negotiations in Geneva took place on February 17-18, and, according to the president, 'quite prominent names were involved, and the fact that such crimes were prevented is a significant result.' These events point to an intensification of Ukraine's foreign policy efforts amid the current situation both within the country and beyond its borders.
President Zelenskyy's statements reflect Ukraine's proactive stance in international diplomacy and its attempts to find a peaceful resolution to the conflict. The imposition of new sanctions and preparations for negotiations demonstrate Ukraine's drive for global coordination with partners, which could influence the further development of the situation in the region. Such actions may become a crucial step in Ukraine's struggle to restore its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
