Ukrzaliznytsia Launches Daily Direct Train Service Connecting Odesa and Rakhiv.
New Long-Distance Train Service from Odesa to Rakhiv
According to Novyny.live: Ukrzaliznytsia has scheduled a new long-distance train, No. 26/25, to run daily between Odesa and Rakhiv, with service commencing on February 3. This daily connection will provide a more convenient travel option for passengers journeying between these two cities. This launch is part of ongoing efforts to enhance domestic rail connectivity within Ukraine.
Train No. 26/25 will depart Odesa at 18:38, arriving in Rakhiv at 13:20 the following day. The return service departs Rakhiv at 14:21, arriving in Odesa at 08:38. This new route is integrated into the '3000 Kilometers Across Ukraine' program, a national initiative focused on developing and promoting the country's railway infrastructure.
Ticket Purchase and Train Composition
Tickets for the new train are already available for purchase via the Ukrzaliznytsia mobile app, official website, and at station ticket offices. The train will offer a variety of carriage types to suit different passenger needs:
- Luxury carriages
- Compartment carriages
- Open-plan berth carriages
- Carriages with women-only and family compartments
The route will include stops at several stations, such as Podilsk, Vapniarka, Zhmerynka, Khmelnytskyi, Ternopil, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Yaremche, Tatariv-Bukovel, Vorokhta, Yasinya, and Kvasy.
To further facilitate travel, Ukrzaliznytsia has also scheduled additional trains No. 255/256 from Kyiv to Rakhiv on January 26 and 28. The inauguration of this direct Odesa-Rakhiv link underscores the railway company's commitment to improving internal transportation networks across the country.
This new train service will provide Ukrainians with a more convenient way to travel between Odesa and Rakhiv, which is expected to positively influence tourism development in the region.
Furthermore, the route's inclusion in the '3000 Kilometers Across Ukraine' program highlights Ukrzaliznytsia's strategic approach to modernizing and expanding rail services, which can contribute to the economic development of communities along the route.
