The Verkhovna Rada Adopted a Law on Social Services
The Verkhovna Rada has adopted a law to improve the procedure for providing social services, as announced by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
Project No. 12124 was supported in the second reading by 255 members of parliament.
According to this document, the following categories of people will be able to receive social services regardless of income:
- persons who have suffered from human trafficking or violence based on gender;
- children with disabilities and persons with disabilities of the first group;
- orphaned children and children deprived of parental care, as well as persons from their number up to 23 years old;
- families of guardians, custodians, foster families, family-type children's homes, families of patronage educators;
- children with severe illnesses;
- persons who have been harmed as a result of a fire, natural disaster, catastrophe, military (combat) actions, terrorist acts, armed conflict, including temporary occupation, forced displacement or deportation, forced internal displacement, deprivation of personal freedom due to armed aggression against Ukraine.
