In particular, for the first Time in over a year, fighters from the 'Azov' were released from captivity. Ukraine was able to return 15 'Azov' fighters during today's exchange.

Today, the annual Yalta European Strategy (YES) forum began. The President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, decided to supply additional defense equipment to Ukraine at the government's proposal. This is already the 25th delivery of military equipment from Helsinki.

The cost of the new shipment is estimated at approximately €118 million, and the total amount of military aid provided by Finland since the beginning of the war has reached €2.3 billion.

The World Health Organization has approved a vaccine from Bavarian Nordic as the first vaccine against monkeypox, now known as mpox.

The vaccine, which is a two-dose injection for individuals aged 18 and older, can also be used for infants and children, as well as for pregnant women and individuals with weakened immune systems when benefits outweigh potential risks.

WHO also recommends a single dose of the vaccine under conditions of limited supply. Studies have shown that a single dose of the Mva-Bn vaccine, administered prior to exposure, provides 76% protection against mpox, and two doses provide approximately 82% efficacy.

The European Commission presented three new options for extending sanctions against Russia to EU ambassadors. To ensure Ukraine receives a $50 billion loan, G7 countries want assurance that the EU sanctions regime regarding assets will not be lifted.

The first option presented by the European Commission includes a five-year freeze on Russian assets with a review every 12 months and a qualified majority of EU countries needed to unfreeze the assets.

The third option is to extend the term of all sanctions related to Russia for 36 months. Currently, EU sanctions against Russia can be extended every six months.
