Tragedy in Poltava: Russian Aggressor Struck a School and a Hospital
The circumstances of the tragedy in Poltava, in cooperation with law enforcement officers, will be investigated by the Main Inspection of the Ministry of Defense. This was announced by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov on Facebook.
Today, Poltava and all of Ukraine are experiencing a terrible tragedy. The Russian aggressor struck a school and a hospital in the city with a ballistic missile. Dozens of people have died, hundreds are injured. Rescuers and emergency services are working on the scene.
The Minister of Defense of Ukraine noted that today's events in Poltava are further proof of the cruelty of Russian terror.

According to the Ministry of Defense, Russian troops today launched a missile attack on an educational institution in Poltava using a ballistic missile. One of the institute's buildings was partially destroyed, many people were trapped under the rubble. 25 people were rescued, 11 were extricated from under the rubble, and rescue operations are ongoing.
Initially, it was reported that 41 people had died. More than 180 people were injured.
Eyewitnesses told "Glavkom" that the strike on Poltava was very powerful, with plumes of black smoke rising into the sky. The Poltava blood transfusion station, which operates on the base of the regional hospital, announced an urgent blood drive. In addition, an operational headquarters was established to mitigate the consequences of the strike in Poltava. Preliminary information indicates that more than 10 residential buildings were damaged.
