Odesa Region Boosts 'Invincibility Point' Network to 566 Shelters Amid Power Crisis.
Odesa Region Expands 'Invincibility Point' Network to 566 Locations
According to Novyny.live: In response to severe weather and strain on the power grid, the Odesa region has significantly increased the number of its 'Invincibility Points'—shelters offering refuge and warmth. As of February 1, 2026, a total of 566 such points are now operational across the region. Of these, 277 are located within the city of Odesa itself, ensuring critical aid is accessible to urban residents. These shelters are a vital part of Ukraine's civil defense infrastructure, established to support civilians during wartime energy disruptions.
Current Power Supply Situation
The power supply situation remains difficult. According to information from January 31, 2026, electricity had been restored to 320,000 households across 558 settlements. However, as of February 1, 2026, more than 33,000 consumers remain without power in 176 villages and towns across the oblast. The most severe challenges are currently observed in the:
- Berezivka district
- Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district
- Odesa district
The head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper, announced the expansion of the 'Invincibility Point' network, marking a crucial step in mitigating the effects of the severe weather and providing support for those in need. Residents of the region can turn to these points for shelter and warmth during these challenging times.
The expansion of this shelter network directly addresses the complex power supply crisis caused by the weather and grid overload. This initiative is designed to deliver essential support to the most vulnerable segments of the population during the ongoing emergency. By offering a place for warmth and refuge, the 'Invincibility Points' serve a critical social function for the community.
