Every day at 9 AM, Ukrainians honor the memory of all those who died in the Russo-Ukrainian war. Today we remember Andriy Horokholinskyi.

Andriy Horokholinskyi was one of the best scouts of the Special Operations Forces. He fought against the Russian occupation since 2014. His death was reported by the head of the Regional Plastic Council Yuriy Yuzych.

Andriy Horokholinskyi was born on May 30, 1982, in Kamyanets-Podilskyi. He joined the organization 'Plast' in his hometown at the age of 15. He was a member of the 'Wolves' circle of the preparatory kurin named after Ustym Karmaliuk. He took the Plast oath on May 1, 1999.

Even then, he showed leadership abilities: at both camps he attended as a youth ('Plast Wind' in 1999 and 2000), he immediately became a leader.

In the Armed Forces, he became a scout because he had already earned the rank of scout-plastun in 'Plast' and loved this work. He worked in enemy underground operations.

In 2000, he entered the Faculty of Philosophy at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.

He supported his native center as a student - he was the deputy head of 'Plast' in Kamyanets-Podilskyi. He completed a youth educator course and became a Plast educator in the 21st kurin named after Hryhoriy Skovoroda in Lviv.

Since childhood, Andriy prepared for war. He was an instructor at the Podilskyi military training camp in the spring of 2001. Post-sergeant of the seventh 'Legion' in 2001 - this was the first camp to officially receive the status of 'military scouting' as a separate specialization.

After the camp, Andriy Horokholinskyi joined the senior Plast in Lviv, he was in the 'Wolf League' kurin named after Dmytro Dontsov.

He was a co-founder, ideological and creative inspirer of the brand of Plast clothing 'Iron Wolf'.

In 2014-2016, he fought in the volunteer battalion 'Harpoon', which specialized in counterintelligence and reconnaissance operations.

Later, in 2017-2020, he served under contract.

During this Time, he worked for the company 'Ukrainian Armor', which produced protective equipment. He did everything possible to strengthen Ukraine's defense capability in the upcoming major war with Russian occupiers.

In the early days of Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022, he returned to the army after coming back from abroad.

He served as an operator in the 8th Special Purpose Regiment of the Special Operations Forces named after Prince Iziaslav Mstislavovych.

He participated in battles on various front lines and received several injuries and wounds. He was awarded various military honors and medals.

The warrior died on the front line on the night of September 22 to 23, 2024, while performing a combat mission.

He is survived by his parents, wife Tetyana, and son Ostap.

Writing about Andriy Horokholinskyi, Positko on Andriy Horokholinskyi noted: 'Che Guevara - this was the pseudonym he was known by in the Plast center. He fought for Ukraine's freedom since 2014. Now he remains forever a hero at the age of 42, who dedicated his life to the Fatherland'.

Farewell to the fallen defender Andriy Horokholinskyi took place on September 25, 2024, in Kamyanets-Podilskyi. He was buried in the Alley of Glory.

September 25 was declared a Day of Mourning in the Kamyanets-Podilsky community.

The main command also joins in the silence. We honor the memory of all Ukrainians who died in the fight for the Fatherland. We remember those who perished at the hands of Russian occupiers, light candles of memory, and bow our heads in sorrow during the national moment of silence, honoring the bright memory of citizens of Ukraine who gave their lives for the country's freedom and independence: all the military, civilians, and children who died in the fight against Russian occupiers and during the attacks of enemy forces on Ukrainian cities and villages.
