Russia sets a deadline for capturing three cities in Donetsk region: what is known.
According to ТСН: The military-political command of the Russian Federation issued an order to the Russian occupation army to capture Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, and Dobropillia. The Kremlin needs this to bolster its propaganda narratives about 'successes on the front.'
Enemy's strategic goals
This information was confirmed by the chief of staff of the 1st separate assault battalion named after Dmytro Kotsyubaylo, Oleh Lotozkyi, on the air of '24 Channel.' He noted that Russian units have clearly planned timelines for capturing the specified settlements and are trying to implement their plans through massive pressure.
'They have increased the number of personnel and equipment in the assaults.'
— noted the Ukrainian officer.
Enemy's psychological operations
Lotozkyi also mentioned that Russian troops are trying to undermine the morale of Ukrainian defenders by publishing video materials with their flags against the backdrop of areas controlled by them. However, according to him, such actions do not indicate the achievement of key strategic objectives, but rather have more informational character than military.
He emphasized that the defense of Pokrovsk was prepared in advance: engineering barriers were created there, and the level of defensive infrastructure meets modern requirements.
'That's why it has been holding for so long. It is still holding.'
— added the military.
Situation at the front
Lotozkyi also noted that the enemy's penetration into Pokrovsk was facilitated by difficult weather conditions, notably thick fogs, which allowed for the unnoticed accumulation of forces in the city area.
According to information from the troops grouping 'East,' defensive actions continue in Pokrovsk, Ukrainian forces control the northern part of the city. In Myrnohrad, Ukrainian units maintain defensive lines and destroy Russian occupiers at the approaches to the city.
The situation at the front remains tense. Ukrainian forces continue to fight for every inch of territory, ensuring a strategic advantage in the region. Defensive positions in Pokrovsk are an important element in defending against further enemy offensives. Ukrainian defenders, reinforced by prepared infrastructure, are ready to meet any challenges that lie ahead.
