Russian troops have occupied Makaryvka, Sukhi Yaly, and Zelensky. This is reported by the DeepState project.

According to the DeepState project, Russian troops have seized Makaryvka, Sukhi Yaly, and Zelensky. In addition, they continue to advance near Staryi Terniv, Novodariivka, Vovkove, Novovasylivka, Novoelyzavetivka, Novoolemyivka, Ukrainka, Zoria, Storozhove and Kurakhove.

It is also reported that the Ukrainian forces managed to break out of Makaryvka and as of December 23 there are no surrounded units in the village.

The situation remains tense in the Vremivka direction, in particular, Russian troops repel daily assault attacks, their number exceeds 40. At the same Time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Makaryvka near Velyka Novosilka found themselves surrounded.

The 1043rd day of the war continues, during which there have been 235 combat clashes. Ukrainian military forces prioritize repelling the enemy's offensive, which is trying to advance deep into the territory. The situation in the Pokrovsk and Vremivka directions remains complicated. Russian occupants have also increased pressure in the Lyman and Kurakhiv directions.

The enemy carried out 12 airstrikes on the territory of Ukraine, dropping 37 KAB. The strikes were reinforced with 490 kamikaze drones and over three thousand shellings of Ukrainian military positions and settlements.

Assault on cities with strong defense systems

According to information, the leader of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, planned to task the occupants with taking control of new territories in the east and temporarily abandon capturing Pokrovsk. However, an assault on cities with strong defense systems, such as Pokrovsk, may slow down the pace of Russian movement at a critical moment for the Kremlin.

In addition, MP Maryana Bezuhla reported that the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, plans to close the DeepState project and mobilize its analysts. This information was confirmed by the DeepState team.
