On December 20, Russian occupants began a massive shelling of the city of Kherson and the region. This was reported by the head of the Kherson Regional State Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin. He urged residents of the city to stay in safe places. Also, the head of the Kherson City Military Administration, Roman Mrochko, invited the residents of Kherson to stay in shelters and avoid approaching windows or going outside.

The Telegram channel 'Mykolaivskyi vanek' reported that coastal settlements from Kherson to Olhivka, as well as Chornobayivka, are under fire. The enemy is firing without correction, not accurately. It is noted that the shelling is related to the enemy's attempts to occupy the area of the Antonivskyi Bridge. Assault groups of the enemy are trying to move closer to the Antonivskyi Bridge under the cover of this shelling. Ukrainian defenders are repelling attacks, and the fighting continues.
