Targeted Cash Assistance for Utility Bills

According to Novyny.live: Ukraine has launched a targeted cash assistance program for individuals with disabilities, designed to help cover utility costs. This initiative aims to improve living conditions for this group by providing financial relief. Payments vary by season: from April through October, recipients receive 500 hryvnias per month, while from November through March, the monthly amount increases to 700 hryvnias.

The assistance is disbursed in a non-cash format, meaning funds go directly to utility service providers. Notably, those already receiving housing subsidies are not eligible for this benefit, a measure intended to prevent overlapping support.

Required Documents for Application

Applicants must submit several documents to qualify for the aid. These include:

  • a passport;
  • a taxpayer identification number;
  • proof of disability status;
  • copies of utility bills from service providers;
  • a certificate of family composition.

The application process takes roughly 10 minutes, provided all necessary paperwork is in order.

Individuals who already receive a housing subsidy are barred from accessing this payment.

In summary, this new targeted cash assistance program will serve as a vital support for people with disabilities in Ukraine, offering year-round financial help with utility expenses.

The initiative is part of broader efforts by the Ukrainian government to strengthen social safety nets for vulnerable populations, particularly those with disabilities. Given that utility costs can pose a significant financial burden, this program aims to ease that strain. Importantly, it complements rather than duplicates the existing housing subsidy system, ensuring resources are directed efficiently to those in greatest need.
