The acting permanent representative of Ukraine to international organizations in Vienna, Victoria Kuvshinnikova, stated that Vladimir Putin's actions indicate his hopelessness. She emphasized that Ukraine's resilience and the unity of the free world are Putin's weaknesses. He is trying to break the will of Ukrainians through increased blackmail.
Kuvshinnikova reminded that Russia is once again attacking Ukraine's energy infrastructure with missiles and drones for the third winter in a row. She called for holding Russia accountable for the terror against the civilian population.
Ukraine must strengthen its defense capabilities, build a reliable defense shield, boost its economy, and integrate into the Euro-Atlantic security architecture, as well as use frozen Russian assets to support the country. Sanctions against Russia should also be increased, depriving it of income from oil and gas sales.
Kuvshinnikova warned that the coming weeks will be difficult, with further increases in violence and escalation of steps by Russia expected. She urged Ukraine's partners not to be intimidated and to support the Ukrainian people.
