The lower chamber of the US Congress has passed a bill that sets the budget for the country's defense needs for the next year at $883.7 billion.
This was reported by Ukrinform, citing The Hill.
'The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) was approved by the lower chamber with bipartisan support - 281 to 140. Notably, 200 Republicans and 81 Democrats joined forces to bring it to fruition,' the report states.
The Senate plans to begin work on the bill next week.
It is worth recalling that the fiscal year in the United States runs from October 1 to September 30.
In circumstances where the budget for the current fiscal year has not been approved by Congress and signed by the President, funding for federal agencies is typically carried out through resolutions for temporary funding extensions at the level of the previous fiscal year.
