Paranoid Fear: European Experts Assess Putin's Reaction to Ukrainian Special Operations.
According to Jakub Janda, director of the 'European Values' analytical center in Prague, the assassination of Russian General Igor Kirillov in Moscow will not pose a threat to Russian President Vladimir Putin from Ukrainian special services.
He believes that Putin's security measures are well thought out, as he stated in a comment for the Bild publication.
'I do not believe that Vladimir Putin faces an immediate danger from the operations of the Ukrainian state,' he stated.
Janda emphasizes that this is possible thanks to 'well-thought-out security measures' that Putin adopts.
However, the analyst warns that 'mid-level representatives of the Russian state should now truly fear for their lives. A successful operation by Ukraine in the heart of the enemy capital sends a signal to all Russians involved in war crimes: Ukraine will get you.'
Director of the 'Center for European Resilience' in Berlin, Serhiy Sumlynny, believes that attempts are being made to honor Putin. He benefits from the role of 'the dictator who, in a megalomaniac state, leads his army into the abyss.' But the Security Service of Ukraine and the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine are killing 'important officers [...], to weaken Russia's combat capability,' Sumlynny stated.
Senior researcher at the American 'Center for European Policy Analysis', Jessica Berlin, has a different view: 'Every day, Putin fears for his life, and this has been going on for a long Time. He has body doubles, tasters, and enhanced security measures at meetings.'
The ability of Ukraine to carry out operations to neutralize high-ranking officers even in the very center of Moscow 'only strengthens his paranoia and distrust of his own people,' Berlin said.
