According to ТСН: For the first time in the full-scale war, it seems that a cessation of hostilities is becoming a reality. After a series of active diplomatic meetings in Berlin, attended by Ukraine, the USA, and EU leaders, the parties announced "real and concrete progress". The concluding note of the two-day discussions was a joint phone call with Donald Trump.

Security guarantees under the "NATO standard"

One of the key points of the negotiations is the provision of legally guaranteed security for Ukraine. As noted by The New York Times, the USA is ready to implement these commitments through Congress.

President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that mechanisms similar to Article 5 of the NATO Charter are being discussed. Donald Trump also expressed his willingness to join this process.

"We are working on this with Europe. Europe will be an important part of this. We are working on security guarantees to ensure that the war does not start again. We do not want the war to start again," said Donald Trump.

Foreign troops on Ukrainian territory

An important element of the plan is the creation of multinational forces that will operate with the support of the USA on Ukrainian territory. The main tasks of these units are:

  • Assisting the restoration of the Armed Forces of Ukraine;

  • Ensuring the airspace security of Ukraine;

  • Monitoring the ceasefire and rapid response to violations.

90 billion euros and frozen Russian assets

Europe is also taking responsibility for financial support. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced specific figures for aid over the next two years.

"We have proposed to cover two-thirds of Ukraine's financial needs over the next two years, about 90 billion euros. Russian assets will remain frozen. Discussions on the "reparations loan" will begin in two days," said Ursula von der Leyen.

She also emphasized that the West will support Ukrainians "for as long as necessary".

What next

According to Volodymyr Zelensky, in the coming days American negotiators will finalize documents and present them to the Russian side. Over the weekend, the Ukrainian team will meet again with partners to discuss the results.

The President of Ukraine made it clear: if the Kremlin rejects acceptable peace conditions, the USA is ready to intensify pressure on Russia and significantly expand military assistance to Ukraine.

The question of whether Moscow will agree to these conditions remains open, but the diplomatic pressure from the West is currently unprecedented.
