Kyiv is left without supermarkets: major chains are closing due to power outages.
According to ТСН: Kyiv residents express dissatisfaction online due to the closure of large supermarkets, a consequence of constant power outages.
Situation with electricity supply
“We are all currently in a difficult situation due to interruptions in electricity supply. The NOVUS team is doing everything possible to restore store operations as quickly as possible and to be there for you. Due to the outages, not all stores can operate in the usual mode, so we ask you to check the current operating schedule in advance,”- said the NOVUS company.
Closed supermarkets
Member of Parliament Oleksiy Honcharenko published photos of closed supermarkets of this chain.
“This is what some supermarkets in Kyiv look like now. Due to prolonged outages, generators fail and run out of fuel,”- he captioned his photos.
Position of the 'ATB' chain
At the same time, the popular supermarket chain “ATB” assures that the information about mass closures in Kyiv is false, indicating isolated and temporary cases.
“As of today, all stores of the 'ATB' retail chain in Kyiv and the Kyiv region are operating as usual. The company’s retail facilities are equipped with autonomous power sources (generators), which allows for uninterrupted operation even in case of power supply interruptions. In isolated cases of technical or logistical difficulties, the company responds promptly and takes necessary measures to eliminate them to ensure stable operation of the stores and availability of goods for consumers,”- assured the company’s press service.
'Aurora' chain
The press service of the 'Aurora' store chain also reported that their stores are operating as usual and the information about mass closure is untrue.
Moreover, it was previously reported that nearly 800 homes remain without heating in Kyiv.
The situation with electricity supply in Kyiv remains tense. Despite the statements of supermarket chains about their operation, consumers note difficulties in accessing goods due to frequent power outages. This underscores the importance of stable energy supply, especially in winter when the demand for electricity only increases.
