The Armed Forces of Ukraine plan underground training ranges: how this will reduce risks for military personnel.
The Armed Forces are preparing for underground exercises
Spokesman for the Ukrainian Volunteer Army, Serhiy Bratchuk, stated this during the 'Morning.LIVE' broadcast on Friday, August 1.
According to him, such locations already exist and are in use, but the issue of implementing similar solutions should be resolved at the state level, taking into account resources and funding.
'The idea is quite valid, but it is equally important to talk about the responsibility of commanders, officers, and every soldier, especially regarding the attitude towards air raid alerts,' emphasized Bratchuk.
He stressed that recent tragic incidents involving the deaths of military personnel during air raid alerts at training ranges require thorough investigation.
He also added that deploying a large-scale network of underground training ranges falls within state decisions, and this will require appropriate resources and funding.
'The issue of resources is not up to me; it's a decision at the state level. Accordingly, there should be the appropriate budgets. The idea is quite valid,' the spokesman noted.
Bratchuk also pointed out that even existing shelters or specially equipped ranges do not exempt fighters and commanders from personal responsibility.
'The commander also talks about another important issue - the responsibility of commanders, officers, and every fighter. This concerns the attitude towards the air raid signal, the reaction to the appearance of scouts over training areas, and adherence to behavior rules.'
Let us remind you that earlier, Russian occupiers launched an attack on a training range of one of the mechanized brigades of the Ground Forces, as well as attacked a training range in the Poltava region.
Underground training ranges for the military are becoming increasingly relevant as they can significantly reduce risks during training. It is important to consider the responsibility of commanders and fighters both underground and above ground. Despite the advantages of new locations, it is essential to observe safety rules and respond to alarm signals responsibly.Read also
