Wives of combatants may lose benefits in 2025: who risks being left without discounts.

Relatives of Ukrainian servicemen who have the status of combatants are entitled to a number of benefits and social guarantees. However, under certain circumstances, they may lose all the preferences provided by this status.

Members of the families of combatants, including wives, minor children, dependent parents, and other persons defined by the list, have the right to discounts on utilities.

• 75% discount on housing rent;
• 75% discount on utilities (gas supply, electricity, etc.)
• 75% discount on fuel costs for those living in houses without central heating.

The area of housing for which the discount is granted during the calculation of heating payments is 21 square meters for each person and an additional 10.5 square meters for the family.

Families consisting only of dependent persons also have a 75% discount on gas use for heating their homes for double the normative heated area.

Under what conditions can a combatant's wife lose benefits

Under certain circumstances, the combatant and his relatives, including the wife, may be deprived of all preferences provided by the status.

1. The serviceman has absconded or deserted.
2. The serviceman has been deprived of the status of a combatant for reasons provided by law.
3. Failure to notify the Pension Fund of Ukraine about information that requires correction.

It is important to note that a combatant's wife is entitled to benefits only if she lives with the serviceman in a legally registered marriage. A cohabitant of a combatant has no right to benefits.
