Russia's Deputy Minister of Defense Anna Tsivilyova reported at a meeting of the State Duma that at least 48,000 Russians fighting against Ukraine are missing. She noted that services for DNA identification are being provided to the relatives of the missing for their search. Those who sign a contract with the Ministry of Defense are required to provide epithelial samples for analysis and their inclusion in the Ministry of Internal Affairs database.

«All relatives [of the missing] who contacted us <...> 48 thousand», – Tsivilyova said.

The head of the State Duma's Defense Committee Andrei Kartapolov requested not to disclose the number of missing in action, as this is sensitive information. He also noted that Tsivilyova should talk about appeals to the ministry, not about general statistics.

After that, Tsivilyova clarified that she mentioned figures not of the deceased, but of appeals to their department. She added that many of the missing will be found. These figures refer specifically to appeals to the ministry, not general statistics.

It is important to note that Tsivilyova is related to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and the wife of Energy Minister Sergey Tsivilyov. She is also on the sanctions list of the USA and the EU.

It should be reminded that regions of Russia are actively purchasing reagents and DNA tests to identify the bodies of deceased participants of the war in Ukraine. According to reports, almost 183 million rubles were allocated for this from January to November this year, which is twice as much as in 2023. Automatic devices for conducting analyses are also being purchased, as manual analysis takes a lot of Time and is less accurate.

Russian commanders distribute instructions to subordinates about suicides

In eastern Ukraine, Russian occupiers are distributing instructions to their subordinates on how to commit suicide. The documents describe suicide algorithms using firearms or grenades. If there are no weapons or ammunition, they recommend using a grenade. Ukrainian intelligence considers such actions by the Russian occupiers to be an 'army of suicide bombers in the literal sense.'

Also, Russian occupation forces use former female prisoners to storm the positions of Ukrainian military. This is due to the fact that Ukrainian prisons almost have no people because of the mobilization of convicts for the war against Ukraine.
