Taxes, car insurance, paid medicine: what changes await Ukrainians in 2025.
Starting from January 1, 2025, important legislative changes will begin in Ukraine, affecting various aspects of citizens' lives. Individual entrepreneurs of the third group and legal entities of the third group will face an increase in the tax burden. They will be required to pay a military levy of 1% of their income during the first quarter of 2025.
As reported by 'Hvylya', entrepreneurs of the first, second, and fourth groups will pay a fixed military levy of 800 hryvnias per month, which constitutes 10% of the minimum wage.
Mandatory payment of the Unified Social Contribution is also being introduced, which was excluded from the state budget for 2025. Considering the minimum wage of 8000 hryvnias, entrepreneurs will have to pay 1760 hryvnias per month.
Changes for motorists
Significant changes are also expected for motorists. The new law on civil liability insurance for vehicle owners stipulates an increase in the limits of insurance payouts.
The maximum compensation for damages to life and health will increase to 500 thousand hryvnias, and for material damages - to 250 thousand hryvnias. Insurance companies will gain the right to independently set tariffs for insurance policies and cancel deductibles.
Changes in the medical field
In the medical field, charges will be introduced for certain services that are not included in the Medical Guarantees Program. For example, patients will have to pay for consultations without a doctor's referral and additional comfort in the hospital, but primary and emergency medical care will remain free, as will the services of certain specialists without a referral.
Simplified disability assessment process
Important changes are also expected in the disability assessment system. Medical and social expert commissions will cease their operations, replaced by expert teams of doctors with an electronic assessment system. The disability assessment procedure will be simplified, as doctors will be able to immediately refer patients for assessment by the expert team.
Salary increase for teachers
Positive changes are expected for educators. Starting from January 2025, teachers in state and municipal general secondary education institutions will receive a monthly bonus of 1000 hryvnias, which will increase to 2000 hryvnias in September. This initiative will remain in effect until the end of the martial law in Ukraine.
New postal delivery tariff system
Additionally, the national operator 'Ukrposhta' is introducing a new postal delivery tariff system based on the volume of the shipment rather than its weight. Eight standard package sizes with fixed tariffs are being introduced, with the lowest tariff remaining unchanged.
