The Polish Ministry of National Defence has signed contracts for the purchase of 96 self-propelled howitzers called Krab and 250 armored vehicles to support the South Korean K9 self-propelled howitzers. The agreement was signed between the Ministry of State Assets and the Polish Defence Ministry's Armaments Agency on one side, and defense companies Huta Stalowa Wola S.A. and Rosomak S.A. on the other. The total value of the contract amounts to 17 billion zlotys, exceeding 4.2 billion US dollars, reports Ukrinform.
'We have signed two contracts for one of the largest orders in the Polish defense industry: 96 Krab self-propelled howitzers along with command, command-staff, and transport-loading vehicles, as well as over 250 escort vehicles for K9 self-propelled howitzers,' said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence of Poland.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that this is a significant investment in the Polish defense industrial complex and the country's economy.
