Poland: changes for Ukrainian drivers

From November 1, Poland introduces mandatory electronic registration for foreign carriers, including Ukrainian ones.

The Lviv customs office reports that carriers will be required to register their shipments in the SENT transport monitoring system before crossing the Polish border, regardless of the type of cargo.

In addition, the vehicle driver must always have with them the RMPD registration number from the SENT system or a substitute document.

Companies from countries that are not members of the EU, Switzerland, and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) must also ensure the continuous transmission of the vehicle's geolocation data.

The truck must be equipped with a locator or an external localization system, and the driver is required to turn on the locator before starting the transport.

It is noted that violations of the new requirements entail fines for both drivers and carriers.

Fines for drivers:

1500 złoty (15,000 UAH) for the absence of a registration number, 2000 złoty (20,000 UAH) for a disabled locator or refusal to check geolocation data.

Fines for carriers:

12,000 złoty (120,000 UAH) for transportation without registration or with inaccurate data, 10,000 złoty (100,000 UAH) for the absence of geolocation data or a locator.
