Polish activists have lifted the blockade at the border: movement at Medyka restored.
Protesters unblocked the crossing point 'Medyka-Szeginy'
According to inkorr.com: Participants of the protest lifted the blockade at the crossing point 'Medyka-Szeginy'. According to the Western Regional Department of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Polish activists completed their movement restriction action at 5:00 PM.
On the Polish side, it has been confirmed that freight transport can now pass through this point every 15 minutes in both directions. The processing of all types of vehicles is taking place in a normal mode, according to the State Border Guard Service.
Protesters noted that the reason for their actions was the low prices for grain products. However, passenger cars and buses were able to pass without restrictions. The blockade was organized at 12:50 in front of the crossing point 'Medyka-Szeginy'.
The government of Poland has included border control points in the list of critical infrastructure to prevent future attempts to block the Polish-Ukrainian border.
Thanks to the lifting of the blockade, the Ukrainian-Polish crossing point 'Medyka-Szeginy' is again open for movement. The Polish government is already taking measures to prevent similar situations in the future by including border points in the critical infrastructure.
This protest action demonstrates the activity of Polish farmers regarding the prices of their products. Government decisions aimed at ensuring the continuity of movement at the border may significantly affect trade relations between Ukraine and Poland. Monitoring further events may provide insight into the development of the agricultural product market situation in the region.
