According to Novyny.live: On the evening of May 29, 2026, the Poltava district experienced falling debris and direct hits from hostile unmanned aerial vehicles. The attack caused damage to:

- a medical clinic building
- farm structures
- vehicles
- power lines
Two people were injured and received on-site medical care.
Authorities have also warned of a potential large-scale assault by Russian forces on Ukraine on May 30 and 31. In response, air defense systems are operating around the clock. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that
“Russia is preparing for a missile and drone attack,”highlighting the gravity of the threat facing the nation.
