Founder of Kadorr Group Corporation Adnan Kivan Dies.
Today, October 28, the founder of Kadorr Group Corporation and Arab investor Adnan Kivan passed away. This was reported by the corporation's press service.
According to Kadorr Group's press service, Kivan was the largest Arab investor in Ukraine, known for successful business projects, social initiatives, as well as philanthropy and patronage.
«With a prayer on our lips, we bid him farewell, as he did not divide people but united them and believed that everything is by God's will. A reliable support, faithful companion, and the highest value for Adnan Kivan was his family. Sincere condolences to his wife, children, and grandchildren. His good deeds will live forever», – the statement reads.
It is worth noting that the company did not specify the cause of Kivan's death. Adnan Kivan is survived by his wife, three children, and grandchildren.
What is known about Adnan Kivan
Adnan Kivan – a multimillionaire of Arab-Syrian descent. The businessman was born on November 30, 1962. In 1986, he organized a company that mediated negotiations between the USSR and its Arab debtors. The company, according to Kivan, received a commission of 1.5–7% from each debt settlement deal. By 1990, the businessman estimated he had earned almost $60 million.
In 2005, Kivan founded the company «Diana-Plus», which was involved in developing construction projects. In 2006, he created the construction company «Interinvestbud», and in 2010, Kadorr Group was established. In 2017, he founded the agro-company «Kadorr grain of Ukraine».
He was listed among the «100 richest Ukrainians» and was in the top five largest landlords. In 2021, according to Forbes, his net worth was $240 million. Kivan's family owns more than 40 residential complexes in Odesa and Kyiv.
The businessman also owned the company «Zerno Agro», the publication Kyiv Post, and Odesa's 7th channel. Kivan financed the construction of the Arab Culture Center of Odesa and the Eastern Culture Center.
Kivan is also known for the scandal with the English-language media Kyiv Post, which he owned. In November 2021, Kivan announced that his publication would «temporarily» suspend its operation. Meanwhile, the editorial staff claimed that in this way, Kivan wanted to undermine the independence of this media outlet.
Former deputy editor-in-chief Olga Rudenko and journalist Anna Mironyuk published a statement on behalf of the editorial team criticizing Kivan. They stated that the businessman had expressed a desire to expand Kyiv Post and launch a Ukrainian-language media under the publication's brand. In this way, he allegedly «got rid of inconvenient, honest, and principled journalists».
By the way, former vice-president of the Russian concern «Yukos» Mikhail Rogachev was found dead in Moscow. According to preliminary data, Rogachev fell out of a window. The cause and circumstances of death are being investigated.
It was reported that the former top manager left a suicide note in which he said goodbye to his wife. Rogachev was 64 years old and, according to Russian media, was suffering from a severe form of cancer.
