Flood in Spain: over 200 people have already died

In Spain, the death of more than 200 people in the southwest of the country, affected by a catastrophic flood, has been officially confirmed. This is reported by El Pais.

On November 1, the United Coordination Center that deals with the aftermath of the natural disaster officially announced that 202 people have been confirmed dead in the autonomous area of Valencia.

Together with three deaths in other regions, Castilla-La Mancha and Andalusia, the death toll has reached 205. This is already more than the catastrophic floods in western Germany in the summer of 2021.

The last update on Thursday reported over 150 dead.

In the most affected region of Valencia, at least 155 people have died. Missing persons have also been reported, though their exact number is currently unknown.

According to local authorities, there are no more people left stranded on rooftops or in cars. Approximately 70 people were rescued with the help of helicopters.

Recall that Bosnia and Herzegovina was hit by floods. The municipality of Jablanica was the most affected, where 16 people died. Three more bodies were found in the town of Fojnica. Heavy rains that began on Friday night caused flooding in several cities in the central and southern parts of the country, destroying homes and farm buildings.

By the way, global warming provokes the occurrence of intense rains, hurricanes, and consequently changes in the climate.
