The official of the Ministry of Internal Affairs from Vinnytsia bought elite apartments in Georgia during the war.
The head of the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs from Vinnytsia has been found to own elite apartments in Georgia. This was reported by the National Agency for Corruption Prevention (NACP) and the Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA).
According to Hromadske, this is Yuriy Negai, a former employee of the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Vinnytsia. Negai's last declaration, submitted in November, is considered to be before his dismissal.
ARMA received information that the official purchased five elite apartments in Batumi and Bakuriani in March 2022. The total area of these properties ranges from 37 to 87 square meters, and their value varies from 30 to 82 thousand US dollars. The total cost exceeds 7.19 million hryvnias.
According to NACP, the official was involved in a scheme of reselling cars through intermediaries from 2021 to 2023. Cars were purchased below market price and resold at a high markup, which brought significant profit. Persons close to the official were also involved in this scheme.
The official's and his family's expenses for real estate amount to nearly 20 million hryvnias, while their legal income cannot cover such expenses.
This information has been sent to the Office of the Prosecutor General for inclusion in the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under Article 368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal enrichment).
ARMA expects the arrest of these assets, their transfer to the agency's management, and subsequent sale.
NACP has identified signs of a corruption crime in the actions of the former head of the Department of Economic Support of the Security Service of Ukraine.
