The air defense system shot down a missile over Kyiv — how it happened.
During a night attack on Kyiv, Ukrainian soldiers managed to hit a Russian cruise missile 'Iskander-K'. The MANPAD crew of the air defense division accurately hit the target. Thanks to the coordinated actions of the defenders of the capital, new destruction and casualties among the civilian population were avoided.

The separate presidential brigade named after Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytsky published a post documenting the effective destruction of an enemy cruise missile. At night over Kyiv, the combat group of the air defense division used a portable air defense missile system and accurately hit the aerial target.

President Volodymyr Zelensky listened to a report from the Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Klymenko regarding the missile attack by Russian troops on the capital on Thursday, July 31. During the discussion, the issue of operational response to the consequences of the shelling was raised.
Earlier, we also reported that Zelensky had a separate conversation with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney. The parties focused on strengthening Ukraine's air defense.
President Zelensky reacted to the missile attack on the capital after listening to the report from Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Klymenko regarding the situation. The initiative to strengthen the country's air defense was also raised during the conversation with the Prime Minister of Canada.
