Kenny Ramsay SDKCollaboration with a Bar Entrepreneur
Danny has teamed up with bar entrepreneur Damian Matto, who previously managed the popular The Bijou Club in Salford. Danny often visited the venue during his football career and was delighted to work with Damian.
Together they are opening a new restaurant called SDK with a Mediterranean menu. Danny noted:
“This is really a full circle for me. I used to go to Damian's places maybe 20 years ago; I celebrated my birthdays there. I've known Damian for a long time.'
SDK will be the first business to appear in the renovated space, promising quality dining at affordable prices.
Unique Offering
The restaurant will offer a concept of shared dishes at low prices, with some dishes costing just £5. Prices for items like wagyu steak at £36 and truffle fries at £6 highlight 'affordable luxury' and 'great value for money.'
Danny said:
“The most important thing for me is the prices. Everything is quite expensive in our country right now, so we aim to be much cheaper than other places in Manchester.'
Damian added:
“Despite being in the center of Manchester, we have a fair pricing system.'
The restaurant will operate from Thursday to Sunday 'until late', with plans for evening entertainment. The outdoor patio area is expected to feature 'light and airy' interiors in the summer.
The modern restaurant will seat 350 guests and will open its doors to visitors on Saturday, October 4th.
The opening of the new DKD restaurant under the guidance of Danny Simpson and Damian Matto holds hopes of offering fresh solutions on Manchester's culinary map. It also demonstrates how sports and culinary arts can transform into new opportunities after a sports career ends.
