The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with members of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and religious organizations. He expressed condolences over the death of Pope Francis and emphasized the role of the Pontiff and the Vatican in the release of captives and the return of Ukrainian children. Zelensky also thanked the clergy for their support of Ukrainian soldiers during the war. He emphasized that Ukraine is the first to wish to end the conflict and important meetings with representatives of the USA and Europe will take place soon.
The president's meeting with members of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and religious organizations took place in Kyiv.
The President expressed gratitude to churches and religious organizations for supporting Ukraine in the world, their role in spreading the truth about the war and the heroic struggle of the Ukrainian people. He also expressed a desire for the further development of military chaplaincy, which provides support to defenders on the front line.
The meeting also included the Deputy Prime Minister, the Deputy Head of the President's Office, and the Head of the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience.
