Despite this, Democrats are receiving some good news. For instance, Harris has won in the area of economics following strong employment reports and slowing inflation. A port strike that threatened the economy was also averted.

Several new polls also show an advantage for Harris. For example, a New York Times/Siena College poll showed Harris leading Trump nationally. A Reuters-Ipsos poll showed Harris having an advantage over Trump.

Overall, Democrats have been consistently worried about Trump since 2016, when he defeated Hillary Clinton. Therefore, they are eager to ensure he doesn't come back.
