According to UATV: Since the spring of 2023, a unique cafe in the Dnipropetrovsk region has been serving soldiers and volunteers operating near the front. This establishment has become a vital hub, offering free meals to between 1,500 and 3,000 visitors daily, providing essential sustenance in a war zone. It serves as a crucial place of support and respite for those serving on the front lines.

The cafe's kitchen operates 24/7 without days off, ensuring that military personnel and volunteers can receive a hot meal at any hour. A distinctive feature of the cafe is its collection of over one thousand military patches, donated by Ukrainian defenders. This display has become a powerful symbol of solidarity and support, giving the cafe a unique and meaningful atmosphere.

Origin Story and Community Support

The cafe's managers shared the story behind its creation. Tetiana explained that the idea belonged to her husband. After returning from visits to the troops, he would always insist:

"Tanya, they are hungry, they need to eat." - Tetiana

This motivated them to create a place to feed those constantly on the move. Oleh added that standard military rations are often insufficient, creating a need to provide food for soldiers during their travels.

The cafe's popularity is highlighted by visits from notable figures like strongman Vasyl Virastyuk. It continues its important mission, offering support and addressing the needs of military and volunteer personnel who risk their lives daily to defend their country. This initiative is one of many grassroots efforts demonstrating the resilience of Ukrainian civil society during the ongoing conflict.
