PrivatBank Issues Guidance for ATM Transactions During Power Outages.
PrivatBank Warns of ATM Transaction Risks
According to Novyny.live: PrivatBank has alerted its customers to potential risks when depositing or withdrawing funds from cards during power supply disruptions. In response, the bank has provided a specific action plan for clients who may lose funds during such transactions.
Action Plan for Lost Funds
Customers may encounter issues at ATMs due to power outages. Knowing the correct procedure is crucial for recovering any lost money. The recommended steps include:
- Contacting the customer support service;
- Taking a photo of the ATM's identification number;
- Providing precise details of the transaction.
Support can be reached by calling 3700 or via the online chat in the 'Privat24' application.
It is important to note that ATMs are replenished with cash at least once a week. This schedule can affect cash availability in machines during power cuts. If funds are lost from a card issued by another bank, the reimbursement process may take anywhere from 5 to 30 days or longer, and in some cases, up to 180 days.
To minimize the risk of losing money, PrivatBank advises customers to:
- Avoid using unfamiliar ATMs;
- Withdraw cash from ATMs belonging to the bank that issued the card;
- Refrain from withdrawing large sums in a single transaction.
Following these simple guidelines can help prevent unexpected issues during periods of unreliable electricity supply, a situation affecting many regions.
This advisory underscores the need for customer awareness regarding ATM use during unstable power conditions, which can result from various factors including infrastructure strain. By proactively offering these recommendations and a clear action algorithm, PrivatBank aims to mitigate negative consequences for clients facing problems with their financial transactions.
