The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office is requesting the suspension from office of the head of the Antimonopoly Committee Pavlo Kyrylenko. He is suspected of illegal enrichment of over 72 million hryvnias.

The SAP published the corresponding statement on August 8.

'The SAP prosecutor has filed a request with the court for the suspension from office of the head of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, accused of illegal enrichment of over 72 million UAH and declaring false information', - the statement says.

After the indictment was sent to the court, the defense tried to remove the judge of the VAKS from the case, justifying this by the possibility of influence on him by the accused through his powers as head of the AMCU.

'In order to prevent illegal actions by the accused, the SAP prosecutor has filed a corresponding request with the court', - emphasized the SAP.

What is known about Pavlo Kyrylenko's case

Earlier, during the pre-trial investigation, it was established that between 2020 and 2023, Pavlo Kyrylenko acquired 21 real estate objects and one car by registering property rights in the name of his wife's relatives. Overall, the official is suspected of illegal enrichment of over 72 million hryvnias.

It should be noted that in August last year, Kyrylenko was taken into custody, and the court set bail at 30 million UAH. The next day after the VAKS's decision, bail was posted for Kyrylenko without suspending him from work.
