Sold the apartment, then burned it: the police exposed an Odessa woman in the crime.
The offender has been charged under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. For this, she faces up to 10 years of imprisonment. This was reported by the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Odessa region.
In the summer, a fire occurred in one of the residential buildings in Odessa, during which an apartment burned down. The fire caused significant damage, even to the load-bearing structures of the building. Rescue workers arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire. Upon clarifying the circumstances, the police established that it was the former owner of the apartment.
During the investigation, it was found that a man bought an apartment from a woman for 1.5 million hryvnias and allowed her to live there for free until new tenants moved in.
But when it was Time to leave, this offended the woman. In the evening, she returned to the apartment, broke in through the window by smashing it with a hammer she brought with her. She then set fire to the mattress on the bed and fled.
The police also found that this year she was convicted of illegal drug possession and received a fine of 17 thousand hryvnias.
“Having collected enough evidence, we informed the suspect of her suspicion of illegal entry into a residence under Article 162 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, as well as intentional damage to someone else's property by arson under Article 194 of the same code. For this, she faces up to 10 years of imprisonment. We are now asking the court to impose a preventive measure on her. The investigation is being conducted by the Malinovskyi District Prosecutor's Office of the city of Odessa,” said Anastasia Chernenko, Deputy Head of the Investigation Department of Police Station No. 3 of Odessa District Police Department No. 1.
Recall that in Odessa, the murder of the head of a public organization by order of Russian special services was prevented.
