Russia has shifted the threat of aggression against the Baltics to 2027: what is known.
According to ТСН: Russia has significantly increased its military capabilities and is conducting 'testing' of the defense capabilities of the Baltic and Northern European countries.
Security expert Serhiy Kuzan emphasized that this is manifested in provocations using drones, although their combat parts are absent. There are also observed actions of Russian ships in foreign territorial waters and violations of airspace by Russian aviation.
“All the countries in the Baltic Sea region have been tested precisely with the launch of these Russian drones. Regularly, ships of the Russian fleet enter and planes fly in. This does not find an adequate response from the countries that are NATO members. Therefore, for themselves, the Russians conclude that the dates for possible provocations or armed aggression may be shifted by 3 years,” said the expert.
Kuzan also noted that earlier, Western intelligence indicated 2030 as a potential start of aggression against the Baltic countries, but now, including Ukrainian intelligence, asserts that this could happen in 2027.
The key problem lies in the difference in pace: the Russian Federation is rapidly increasing its military potential, while European countries are doing so much more slowly.
Earlier, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate Kyrylo Budanov noted that an invasion of the Baltics is a reality for which Moscow is already preparing and waiting for the 'right moment.'
In the context of growing Russian military activity in the region, it is important to focus on strengthening the defense capabilities of the Baltic and Northern European countries. Experts emphasize the need to consolidate efforts among NATO countries to counter potential threats that may arise in the coming years. Time will tell how the steps taken will affect the stability of the situation in this important region.Read also
