Putin has set conditions for ending the war in Ukraine: details from Reuters.
Political complications in Ukraine: Is Putin ready for peace?
Ukraine is experiencing real political complications, as sources from Russia indicate that President Vladimir Putin is ready to end the war under certain conditions. Among them are commitments from NATO leaders regarding non-expansion of the alliance and easing of sanctions.
After a conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump, Putin expressed his willingness for peaceful dialogue with Ukraine. However, unfortunately, reaching peace agreements may take significant time, as noted by one of the Russian interlocutors.
'Putin is ready for peace, but not at any cost,' said the Russian interlocutor.
Russia also emphasizes the necessity of written guarantees regarding its demands, including non-expansion of NATO to the east, protection of Russian-speaking populations, and lifting sanctions. The situation is very tense, and the prospects for reaching a consensus are currently uncertain.
