Putin again avoids a meeting with Zelensky: expert reveals the reasons for Kremlin's tactics.
Putin continues to do what he has always excelled at - buying time and avoiding sanctions, believes the political scientist. After a diplomatic breakthrough in Alaska, where the Kremlin was forced to enter into direct dialogue, Moscow is again demonstrating unwillingness to cooperate. Putin is trying to bypass everyone and returns to his usual tactic - postponing meetings, avoiding sanctions, and continuing aggression. This was reported today, August 22, on the FREEДOM TV channel by political scientist, president of the 'Politika' Analytical Center Oleg Lysny.
'The pass was handed over to the Russian Federation and I like it because before that Trump said everything depends on Zelensky, Ukraine, the Ukrainian people. But now everything depends on Putin, and [the head of the Kremlin] misunderstands, in my opinion, the signal. The pass is given for the peace process to continue, since two stages have already passed, the third, as I understand, is that the United States sees a bilateral meeting,' he said.
The Kremlin dictator Putin, according to the political scientist, is currently doing what he has always done well, namely trying to buy time not only to complete the summer military campaign but also to avoid sanctions during this period.
'If it continues like this, it will suit him, and he will postpone this meeting as far as possible and continue what he is doing. We need our European partners to signal alongside us to Trump that this is wrong, that it casts a shadow on the successes achieved in Alaska,' emphasized the political scientist.
He explained that during the talks between U.S. President Donald Trump and Putin in Alaska, an important process was launched that differed from previous ones.
'It differs in that Putin was compelled to personally enter the negotiating process, not via phone or by some other means, but to communicate himself. That was achieved. And now Putin is trying to break this system. I believe he should be punished for this,' concluded Oleg Lysny.
Meanwhile, on August 18, Donald Trump stated that he is starting preparations for a summit between the President of Ukraine and the head of the Kremlin. In a phone conversation with the U.S. President, Putin agreed to meet with Volodymyr Zelensky, the White House confirmed.
The Ukrainian political scientist revealed Putin's actions, who is trying to avoid sanctions and continues aggression after a diplomatic breakthrough in Alaska. According to him, the head of the Kremlin is trying to postpone the meeting with Trump as much as possible, complicating the positive process initiated in Alaska.
