According to UATV: The UN Security Council will hold a special session on February 24, 2024, marking four years since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The agenda will focus on the war's consequences and the prospects for achieving a just peace. This meeting underscores the ongoing international effort to address a conflict that has reshaped European security.
The President of the UN Security Council, James Kariuki, stated that the primary priorities for discussion at the meeting will be three conflicts posing serious threats to international security: Ukraine, Sudan, and Gaza.
Kariuki emphasized the importance of reaching a just peace that satisfies Ukrainians, as well as the necessity of providing security guarantees to prevent Russia from committing further acts of aggression against Ukraine or its neighbors.
