Parliament Extended Benefits for Electric Vehicle Imports
The Ukrainian parliament has made a decision to extend the favorable conditions for the import of electric vehicles. According to the newspaper 'Khvilya', the initiative was proposed by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak. His amendment No. 1061 received support from 248 deputies, which will allow Ukrainians to import electric cars under favorable conditions for another year - until 2027. However, the final decision remains in question, as the Cabinet of Ministers is to submit the final version of the document in November. The head of the financial committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Danilo Hetmantsev, noted that benefits for 2026 will not be extended due to non-compliance with legislation. He emphasized that changes allowing the import of electric vehicles without customs duties cannot be approved until the second reading. Thus, Ukrainians can hope for the possibility of extending the import of electric cars without duties for another two years. However, this may soon lead to a significant increase in prices for such vehicles for consumers in Ukraine. The head of the financial committee of the Verkhovna Rada Danilo Hetmantsev stated that the benefit for 2026 will not be extended due to non-compliance with legislation.
According to inkorr.com: Thus, although the possibility of importing electric vehicles under favorable conditions remains, the restrictions may seriously affect the car market in Ukraine. If the Cabinet of Ministers does not make changes, citizens may face price increases, which will undoubtedly influence buyers' decisions regarding the purchase of new electric cars.
