One of the first members of the renewed team of the Ministry of Strategic Industries Yaroslav Oliynyk (Loki) died in a car accident.

This was reported by former minister Oleksandr Kamyshin.

Yaroslav Oliynyk has died. He was Loki. One of the first members of the renewed team of "Ministry of Strategic Industries." He joined us last summer straight from the front line. He was responsible for working with drone manufacturers. It's still hard to believe," Kamyshin wrote.

He also added that the farewell to the deceased would take place on Tuesday at 12:00 at St. Michael's Cathedral.

Deputy Minister Anna Hvozdar clarified that Oliynyk "died at night along with his wife Nina in a car accident."

"Yaroslav was a sincere and cheerful person who dedicated his entire — unfortunately, very short — life to fighting the enemy. This is a great loss for all of us. For me, Loki was the first colleague in the ministry, he taught me a lot, and I taught him. My sincere condolences to the family and friends," Hvozdar wrote.

Yaroslav Oliynyk — Warrior and Fighter

Yaroslav Oliynyk became part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in 2017, joining the "Aerorozvidka" unit, where he became an operator of reconnaissance drones, mastering this specialty directly during combat operations. On the front line, he was known by the call sign Loki.

With the start of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, Yaroslav took part in battles in the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions, as well as in the Kharkiv counteroffensive, where he helped liberate Kupyansk. Additionally, he cooperated with the charitable foundation "Come Back Alive," actively participating in the training of new drone operators.

Let us recall that defending Ukraine from the enemy, prize-winner of the World Games and Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine Roman Holovatyuk also died. Roman Holovatyuk was one of the best athletes in WAKO kickboxing. He gained popularity in Ukraine and beyond at the age of 22, when he won a medal at the X World Games in Poland in 2017. After that, he continued his outstanding sports career, becoming an Honored Master of Sports in WAKO kickboxing, a World Games finalist, a world champion, a multiple winner of World and European Cups, as well as a multiple champion of Ukraine. The committee emphasized that Holovatyuk was a renowned athlete, a true Ukrainian, warrior, and hero.
