Kharkiv Defense Council Expands Evacuation Orders Across 60 Settlements: Who Must Leave.
Evacuation Efforts Widened in Kharkiv Region
According to Novyny.live: Authorities in Kharkiv Oblast have decided to broaden evacuation measures as the security situation deteriorates. This order applies to 60 settlements across several districts, including Kupiansk, Bohodukhiv, and Kharkiv raions. According to regional leadership, increased safety risks and direct threats to civilian lives are the primary drivers behind this action.
Evacuation Zones Defined
Within the Shevchenkove community, evacuations will cover 41 settlements; in Bohodukhiv district, 12 settlements; and in Derhachi community, 7 settlements. Notably, Derhachi has declared a mandatory evacuation for families with children. The decision was made by the Kharkiv Regional Defense Council, as announced by Oleh Syniehubov.
Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces struck Kharkiv city and 27 settlements in the region, killing one person and wounding 16 civilians, including four children. On July 2, Russian troops also attacked a gas station in Kharkiv. The situation remains tense, and the evacuation order aims to protect the population.
This expansion of evacuation procedures in Kharkiv Oblast is a direct response to mounting military threats endangering civilian lives. Local authorities are working to reduce risks for residents, especially vulnerable groups like families with children. These steps also highlight the severity of the current situation in the region, where active hostilities continue to damage civilian infrastructure and harm people.
