Zaporizhzhia Strike Claims One Life, Injures 12, and Damages 26 Homes.
Deadly Attack on Zaporizhzhia
According to UATV: On March 24, Russian forces launched an assault on Zaporizhzhia using drones and ballistic missiles. The attack killed a 32-year-old man and wounded 12 others. It caused extensive destruction, damaging 26 buildings across four districts of the city. This incident highlights the ongoing threat to civilians in Ukraine's southeastern regions.
Compensation for Victims
Residents affected by the strikes will receive monthly compensation of 10,000 hryvnias to cover rental housing costs. Mayor Ivan Fedorov stated:
“The section of the building below the impact point will be deemed uninhabitable. All residents will receive compensation—10,000 hryvnias per month for rent until their homes are restored or they are provided with new housing.” — Ivan Fedorov
This attack is part of the broader conflict that continues to harm civilians and infrastructure. Local authorities in Zaporizhzhia are working to support victims, but the situation remains dire due to persistent military threats. Rebuilding damaged homes and infrastructure will require significant resources and international assistance.
