Bridge repair paralyzes Kyiv: how drivers can get out of Troieshchyna.
In Kyiv, large-scale repair work on the bridge over the Desenka Bay will begin on May 9, causing serious transportation problems between the left and right banks.
According to the publication 'Khvylya', the repair work will last until the end of 2025, with traffic on the bridge partially restricted in the direction of 'Pochayna' metro station. This will complicate the movement of drivers and passengers.
Company plans and expert assessments
The Turkish company Onur Group won the tender for the repair of a section of the bridge 800 meters long with a budget of over 225 million hryvnias. The repair involves restoring load-bearing structures, replacing beams, repairing supports, and the roadway slab.
Transport expert Dmytro Bespalov believes that the bridge repair is necessary, as most road transport facilities in the city are in poor condition.
However, he warns of possible traffic jams and complications in transport movement due to restrictions on the bridge.
Bespalov also criticizes the authorities for the lack of a clear traffic organization plan and provides recommendations for using the experience of other cities in regulating traffic movement.
Thus, the repair of the bridge over the Desenka is an important event for the city, but it requires competent traffic organization and the avoidance of additional complications for Kyiv residents.
