Reuters: Ukraine plans a peace summit with Russia by the end of the year.
Ukraine plans to hold a new peace summit by the end of the year, and this Time wants Russia to participate in it. This was stated by Ukraine's ambassador to Turkey, Vasyl Bodnar. However, he ruled out the possibility of direct negotiations with Moscow at this summit.
The main goal of such a summit, according to the ambassador, is to achieve a just peace in Ukraine. Instead of direct bilateral negotiations, Ukraine, together with the international community, will propose a list of steps to achieve peace, and based on this list, demands on Russia will be discussed.
The ambassador emphasized that the summit will not be direct negotiations, but third parties will be involved through whom negotiations will be conducted. Bodnar also noted that Turkey, due to its experience in mediating other conflicts, will be an important participant in such a summit.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will also take part in the summit and reiterate Ankara's position on involving both sides in negotiations to resolve the conflict.
It is worth noting that Ukraine's allies are noticing changes in Kyiv's approach to resolving the conflict with Russia.
