According to Espreso.tv: Systemic power failures are creating widespread concern in Crimea, affecting both daily life and military operations. Denys Chystikov, Deputy Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, has reported that recent blackouts are causing panic among Russian forces stationed on the peninsula, while local residents are bracing for potentially extended outages.

A complete blackout struck all regions of occupied Crimea on July 6, 2023. In response, occupation authorities urged residents to conserve electricity. Chystikov noted that without power, the Russian information sphere effectively vanishes. He stated:

“When the lights go out, the entire Russian information space disappears.” – Denys Chystikov

Chystikov also emphasized that for over a decade, Russian authorities had worked to portray Crimea as a peaceful, war-free zone. That narrative, he argued, is now unsustainable. He added:

“For more than ten years, the Russian government insisted that Crimea was a peaceful territory untouched by war. Now, they can no longer maintain that image, even with propaganda.”

The energy crisis in Crimea is raising alarms, as its effects are felt by both civilians and military units. Amid the instability and power cuts, the population is preparing for prolonged hardships, which could significantly disrupt daily life and regional security.
