Ukrainian Navy Day: Budanov Honors Sailors and Highlights the Sinking of the 'Moskva'.
Ukrainian Navy Day
According to UATV: Ukraine observes its Navy Day on July 5—a key date for the country's naval forces, which continue to carry out strategic missions amid Russia's ongoing aggression. Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, extended greetings to sailors, non-commissioned officers, and officers of the Navy, praising their heroic efforts and accomplishments in confronting the enemy. This annual celebration underscores the navy's critical role in defending Ukraine's sovereignty.
Budanov emphasized that 'the feats of the Ukrainian Navy in standing up to the Russian aggressor have already made history: the destruction of the cruiser 'Moskva' and other enemy vessels, involvement in liberating Snake Island and Black Sea platforms, and numerous operations at sea and along the coast.'
He also stated that 'Moscow's aggressive arrogance has been drowned in the Black Sea,' pointing to the Ukrainian fleet's successes on the water.
Effectiveness of Ukrainian Forces
Notably, on the night of April 30, two Russian boats were struck by Ukrainian Navy drones—another example of the military's effectiveness in the fight for the country's independence and security.
Ukrainian Navy Day highlights the importance of the naval forces amid ongoing Russian aggression. Achievements such as the destruction of Russian ships and participation in key operations demonstrate the navy's growing role in ensuring national security. These events matter not only to the military but also to society, boosting morale and support for efforts to defend Ukraine's territorial integrity.
