The Russian Federation is preparing large-scale infrastructure projects in Crimea with the help of China.
The head of the occupation administration of Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov, has decided to involve Chinese businesses in the construction of transport infrastructure in the annexed Crimea. In particular, the investment targets will be the Kerch seaport and the infrastructure of Lake Donuzlav, where the Russian Navy is based.
- The Kerch seaport, which is used for 'gray' exports;
- The infrastructure of Lake Donuzlav, an agreement for which has been reached.
To finalize the agreement, the occupation authorities of Crimea plan to invite Chinese builders for a visit. Among the potential partners is the China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC), one of the giants of the construction sector. The amount of investment is $10 billion.
For additional interest, the head of the occupation administration of Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov, moves around Simferopol accompanied by a convoy, including a vehicle with an electronic warfare system. Due to fears of a potential attack by an FPV drone, he is protected and tries to avoid public places as much as possible.
Conclusion
The head of the occupation administration of Crimea plans to attract Chinese capital for the construction of transport infrastructure in the annexed region, which could have a significant impact on the geopolitical situation in the area and lead to new conflicts over control of infrastructure facilities.
