Rheinmetall will provide Ukraine with modules for 155-mm artillery shells.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has signed a contract with the Rheinmetall group for the supply of propelling charges for 155 mm caliber artillery shells.
According to the group's press service, the order, which was placed in the fourth quarter of 2024, is valued at 9 million euros. Within this order, tens of thousands of propelling charges of various types of 155 mm caliber will be supplied. Delivery is planned for January 2025.
'Thanks to large-scale supplies and support services for Ukraine, Rheinmetall is becoming the most important partner of the country in the defense industry in the fight against Russian aggression. During the 'Ukraine Recovery Conference 2024' in Berlin, the company and Ukraine signed a memorandum of understanding to expand strategic cooperation. This agreement aims to define and develop new areas of deepened cooperation between the Ukrainian defense industry and the technology group from Düsseldorf,' the group reported.
Among the specific projects that are in the planning stage is the production of artillery munitions and the supply and manufacture of Lynx infantry fighting vehicles. In addition to supplies from Rheinmetall, a '(re)industrialization of the national production capacity is also planned, contributing to Ukraine's sustainable defense capability.'
